First Responder

Pre-hospital care and CPR skills for professional first responders fo those wanting to become first responders. Course teaches techniques for sustaining life, preventing further injuries, and caring for illnesses and injuries until the next level of medical personnel arrives. Includes CPR level HCP and AED.

First Responder Certification

Duration:

40-44 hours for full certification course

Instructor:

Red Cross Advanced Emergency Care Instructor or Emergency Care Instructor Trainer

Prerequisites:

Standard First Aid with CPR C (or HCP)
pre-course assignment

100% attendance, skill demonstration, 1 evaluated scenarios, and 80% min. passing grade on written exam

First Responder Recertification

Duration:

20 hours; includes CPR Level HCP

Recertification Prerequisites:

Current Red Cross full certification (FR), valid within 3 years
